Being cool.
What we need is to make everyone fit and rich and pretty and we’ll attract people to our church. Put on lively music, interesting talks and a general welcoming feel-good factor and we will have a successful, growing church.
We’ll become a popular destination. We will cut out tricky subjects and never discuss problems and above all we will not tell people about the need for repentance. We will even stop talking about the cross.
Eventually, we will talk about Jesus dying as an act of love. However it will not have been necessary because God just loves us. Love Wins see?
But that is NOT the Gospel of Christ. Jesus wasn’t cool. Jesus was executed. His followers were executed one by one.
It has never been cool to be a follower of Jesus. True followers were ridiculed, spat on, persecuted and murdered.
We are not called to be COOL. We are called to be FAITHFUL!

Welsh Reflections 
Dear Bull, and friends from the various offshoots of SP02.
As you know, I have commented here and at SP02, Reflection Room, at various times. I usually like to maintain FaceLift as my pseudonym, but this is blocked at SP02 by speckandplanks, despite the fact that I have toned down my comments, so I sometimes use other pseudonyms.
I understand he has come under pressure recently, and has been, possibly, outed by people he mistreated on his blog.
I give a personal guarantee that I had nothing whatsoever to do with this. He caused the situation to arise, and I kept out of it.
I did not comment on the situation, except to advise teddy to let the guys involved sort it out amongst them, and to wish specks well, although he censored this comment.
I am not Sirius, as specks claimed. Sirius is undoubtedly a friend of Alex, whom specks outed.
All avenues to clear this up have been removed by specksandplanks, even though Bull has been given the job of Administrator, which, in effect, means specksandplanks is also acting as Administrtaor, and censoring whomever he chooses.
To my mind, he either hands it over to Bull and lets him decide who should be moderated, and how he moderates, or declares his interest as a moderator.
No one would know that I was blocked out by specksandplanks in defence of the accusation of being Sirius, who treated specksandplanks in a way I have not. That is why I have commented here.
Bull has always treated me fairly, and I respect his moderation.
I was commenting at SP02 as Kipling, but I do not think anyone was not aware of this, nor do I think my behaviour was particularly untoward as far as specksandplanks is concerned. I have not commented on SP02 as anyone else during the time of Kipling.
Now specks has censured Kipling even after I agreed with Bull to go along with his mission statement.
I personally hope that specks is not Jake because Jake is a developing artist who was granted an exhibition at C3 Oxford Falls at the time when specks was starting to go for the C3 jugular. That would be biting the hand that feeds you, as far as I am concerned.

However, whether he is specks or not, I wish Jake well in his burgeoning career, and hope specks will reconsider his refusal to allow Kipling to continue his ongoing discussions with ELD and others.
I hope this can be sorted out amicably.

What the hell does paintings have to do with Christianity? why are churches promoting their members, if “artists”, why not accountants, why not bankers, – this is absolute crap…..
ELD, the exhibition was in the School of Creative Arts at Oxford Falls, which you’ll discover if you follow the link I gave you. You would expect students of a Creative Arts School to be able to exhibit their works, be they musical, artistic or dramatic.
Maybe at a School of Creative Accountancy & Banking you’d have an opportunity to display your finished works.
I think you’d have to say that Charles Wesley was an artist of sorts when he wrote his amazing hymns. Creativity comes from God.

FL, I will unblock you from SP02. I tried to find the IP you were using as Kipling in your last few posts but didn’t manage it.
I don’t know what’s really going on, frankly.
BIt surprised and alarmed by it all really. Particularly when I notice that seemingly many posts that have been moderated by S&P were essentially deleted and since I didn’t read them beforehand, I don’t have any idea who or what these posts refer to.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Bull, you can see deleted stuff for a while in the ‘Trash’ area (if it has not been emptied). If you are administrating, it is definitely best if you are the only one.
Was going to write a post on Signposts, but where would I start?
Instead of rebuking, I’ll just leave it at this. There are obviously a lot of hurt Christians. But you can’t let your hurt turn into hate, or you being worse than the people who you feel hurt you.

Okay, i got it. The reason why activity has stopped on these blogs is that the rapture took place yesterday, and ELD and Teddy went -( they were predestined, but their eschatology was wrong), and of course RP and Bull and Kipling went.
I’ve been left behind……
So do I go and buy Tim Lahaye’s books and find out what to do, or should I just get my guitar and play old Larry Norman songs?
No, the rapture happened with the snatching away of TVD. He was right, God is not sovereign, and we were all “left behind”………..

Wow, what an interesting turn of events at SP02 by the way! I dropped in this afternoon for a bit of a look-see to check out what’s been happening since I left and it looks like a bit of a shaking has gone on. I do hope that specks isn’t that Jake guy. For all that went on between him and me I kind of liked the idea that I was arguing with a persona and not a real person.
Bull, I hope that I can come back to SP02 some day and throw around ideas without the ad homonyms. Good luck with your moderation efforts. Looks like you’ve got a real job on your hands after what I read today!
And activity will slow down while we adjust to normal time vs end of daylight saving, (now my husband can go for his early morning swim in daylight as opposed to shark-feeding pre-dawn)….
It’s just a lull after all the excitement.
We start back up with full on debates in the next day or two.
I’m off to the gym now so will see about posting up something on SP02 in a few hours.
